MSC Cruises banned smart glasses and similar recording wearables — including Meta/Ray-Ban Stories and Google Glass-style devices — from public areas across its ships, citing how much harder covert recording is to spot with glasses than with a phone camera, especially around gangways and security checkpoints. Guests can still use the devices in their cabins; anyone caught wearing them in public areas risks having them confiscated by the ship’s security team.
